New Rapids in Durango

Durango rafters and kayakers will be treated to a new and improved set of rapids on the Lower Animas in Durango this year. Construction started last September and the new Smelter rapids were open to the public for the first time yesterday. These rapids will make the Lower Animas river section more enjoyable and safer for all river users in Durango. Join us on a family raft or kayak trip this summer and we’ll take through the new smelter rapids in Durango, CO.
