Snow Pack Update!!!
Happy Memorial Day weekend! Mother Nature has bestowed Colorado with the best snowpack in the West. A couple of late Spring storms replenished the snowpack in the La Plata and San Juan mountains. As of yesterday, the snow water equivalent for the Animas River Basin is 115% of the average for this time of year. In Durango, the Animas River is already running around 2,000 CFS, which is a super fun, splashy level. But, we can’t wait for warm temperatures to unlock all the snow and crank up the flows even more. Get ready for huge water over the next few weeks….possibly just in time for Animas River Days, May 28 – 31st!
